


3 10-oz. packages of frozen strawberries
3 1/2 c sugar
1 pack Sure-Jell pectin (this is not the same as Jello)
Mix sugar and frozen berries and let thaw. Mix.
Heat Sure-Jell in 3/4 c water. Boil. Pour on berries and stir well for three minutes. Pour in sterilized jars. Store in refrigerator. Yield: 1 qt.
3 c mashed figs (canned are great for this)
3 c sugar
2 regular packages of strawberry or raspberry Jell-O
2 1/2 t (or 2 or to taste; these preseves are sweet) lemon juice
Boil all about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. Pour in sterilized jars. Store in refrigerator. Yield: 1 qt.
