Biography

Martha Beth Lewis is a internationally-acknowledged expert in the teaching of beginners and the business aspects of the private music studio. She maintains a private studio in piano and historical keyboards in California.

Martha Beth is an active lecture-recitalist, speaker, clinician, adjudicator, composer/arranger, and consultant in pedagogy and business.

An award-winning writer, her articles on music have appeared in major professional journals, as well as consumer magazines.

She earned a Ph.D. in musicology from the University of Florida, where she also graduated summa cum laude and was elected to Phi Beta Kappa, Phi Kappa Phi, and other honorary societies. She also was elected to Pi Kappa Lambda and is a member of Sigma Alpha Iota professional music fraternity, Music Teachers' National Association, and Music Teachers' Association of California.

Her pedagogical materials are published by Summy-Birchard (Warner) and E.C. Schirmer.
