Marketing and Advertising

Marketing is defining your business and bringing it to the attention of people who would need your services.

Another element of marketing is defining who the competition is, to whom they are appealing, and what they are selling.

Most people think that advertising and marketing are the same thing, but this is not the case. Advertising is only one aspect of marketing.

Advertising is deciding what you're selling, who would be likely to buy it, where these people are located, how to get your message to them, and then doing so efficiently and well.

Advertising also includes analysis of whether the message was delivered accurately and successfully. If so, why; and if not, why not.
